Job Description
Job Title: Development Intern
Location: Various

Job Summary : The IT Engineering intern will work within the application engineering team on different things including build pipelines, application tooling, reference applications and where possible product development of digital platforms and ecosystems.
Principal Duties:
Enhance application pipelines to improve performance and functionality.
Patch existing software and infrastructure to ensure no security vulnerabilities exist.
Develop and enhance Java, Golang, Kubernetes and Docker components.
Update documentation on SDLC processes and ensure the documentation for how to perform operations withing the Wawa development teams is up to date and accurate.
Work with many tools that could include scripting on Linux in order to achieve and further automation capabilities.
Build performance tests using pre-defined frameworks (K6) for testing existing platforms.
Work with databases including Postgres and MongoDB.

Basic Qualifications:
Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration or major in Computer Science preferred
Knowledge of Java or other similar programming languages (Java/Golang Preferred)
Knowledge of cloud platforms especially Kubernetes/Docker, AWS preferred
Minimum GPA of 3.0 or Higher
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a college or university for the Spring 2025 semester – Fall 2026 semester
Candidate must be available from May 19, 2025 – August 7, 2025
Wawa currently observes a 4-day in office schedule Monday - Thursday with an opportunity to work remote on Friday.
