WAUSHARA COUNTY IT Support Specialist in WAUTOMA, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Looking for a meaningful career opportunity? Waushara County is currently accepting applications for a full-time IT Support Specialist. This position provides software and computer support for all County departments and support functions for County computer networks and networking equipment, as well as handling County web sites, phone systems, and other equipment. Works with all County departments to maintain software updates and functionality and assist in other information technology functions. Provides a backup to the IT Director in the event the director is unavailable. Associate degree from an accredited vocational, college, or technical school in Information Technology preferred, or equivalent work experience. Recent work experience including network administration and support; server administration and support; and PC setup and support preferred. Reasonable accommodations under ADA. 1. Troubleshoots, maintains, and supports networking infrastructure and Microsoft Domain environment. 2. Maintains PC, thin clients, servers, and network system by providing routine maintenance and Troubleshooting. Assists with VOIP telephone system. 3. Consults with end users regarding software needs and problems. Implements and tests software modifications and applications. Instructs users on modifications and applications. 4. Runs and connects network cables, printers and other peripheral equipment and devices. 5. Installs, configures, and supports personal computer hardware, software, and peripherals. 6. Works with end users in maintaining the security and integrity of information stored within system files. 7. Maintains knowledge of current information technology developments. 8. Maintenance of all Microsoft Desktop operating systems. 9. Manages and maintains wireless network equipment and access for staff. 12. Responsible for video conference/recording and presentation needs of the County. 13. Exercises independent judgement with escalation to the IT Director as necessary 14. Other duties as assigned ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of personal computers, networks, virtualization, servers, and a variety of software programs. Ability to work cooperatively with other County personnel and government officials; communicate clearly orally and in writing.
