GE Healthcare Tax Operations Director in Waukesha, Wisconsin

Job Description Summary

This position is a key member of GE Healthcare’s global tax team responsible for all aspects of the global tax reporting under U.S. GAAP ASC 740.

Job Description

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) and ensure complete and accurate tax reporting within the quarterly and annual financial statements;

  • Oversee the US tax compliance process, ensuring complete and accurate tax filings and computations;

  • Drive operational excellence and continuously improving the tax controllership and operations environment;

  • Confirming quarterly SOX 404 internal control procedures for tax accounting and tax compliance;

  • Ensuring tax positions taken are thoroughly and contemporaneously documented;

  • Manage communications with Controllership, FP&A, tax consultants, and external auditors on emerging tax accounting issues;

  • Partner closely with tax and non-tax teams to ensure that they understand the impacts of tax accounting on their business tax objectives;

  • Participate in tax planning initiatives to evaluate and respond to US and international tax reform;

  • Work with FP&A to forecast quarterly and annual effective tax rates and cash tax outflows;

  • Lead the tax quarterly close and consolidation processes including tax provision, information requests, disclosures, and documentation;

  • Review the foreign tax provision and resolve income tax accounting issues with foreign tax and accounting professionals;

  • Monitor all global deferred tax assets for realization and support positions taken with respect to valuation allowances against those assets; and

  • Maintain tax basis of assets/liabilities and the related quarterly tax account reconciliation to income tax accounts on the balance sheet.

Education/Skills/Experience:

  • Accounting degree and CPA credential required

  • Masters in Taxation/Accounting preferred

  • Minimum 10 years of tax experience with a large multinational company and/or Big 4 accounting firm with a focus on tax accounting and reporting

  • Proficiency in US GAAP tax accounting (ASC 740) and Sarbanes Oxley 404 concepts and processes for large, multi-national companies required

  • Strong people leader with a commitment to developing team members, promoting a collaborative work environment

  • Ability to develop, implement, and sustain "Best Practice" processes to ensure maximum efficiency and accuracy

  • Knowledge of US federal tax laws, rules and regulations, various state and local tax laws, rules and regulations;

  • Experience in handling the tax accounting consequences of mergers, acquisitions, separation, and divestiture transactions.

  • OneSource Tax Provision software experience preferred

  • Hyperion or similar software experience preferred; andProficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Proactively manage both internal and external resources;Possess both deep technical knowledge and experience in management and design of the provision process

  • Strong work ethic combined with the ability to consistently maintain high service, quality, efficiency, and ethical standards

  • Ability to thrive in an environment where coordination and teamwork is a priority
