About the Role:
As a Lead Electrical Engineer - Wireless, you will play a pivotal role in the development of wireless solutions within MR systems. You will collaborate with senior technical team members to deliver groundbreaking designs for new product introductions. Your expertise in industry-standard wireless protocols, digital communication standards, and circuit board design processes will ensure top-quality design output.
Job Description
This role will ideally sit in GEHC Waukesha, WI location, but is open for any GEHC sites. We are also open to considering remote candidates but must be willing to travel 20% of the time to GEHC site(s).
Key Responsibilities:
Innovative Wireless Solutions: Assess and implement commercially available wireless solutions within MR designs, focusing on link reliability, power, and lifecycle.
Rigorous Testing: Define and execute testing to evaluate wireless concepts in challenging RF environments.
Schematic Capture: Drive schematic capture for circuit boards implementing wireless designs and high-speed interfaces.
Detailed Documentation: Write comprehensive functional specifications to document new designs and support product introduction.
Project Leadership: Lead electronic module ownership from concept through evaluation to product release.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with technical (firmware, mechanical, etc.) and functional teams (service, program, etc.) to define interfaces and requirements for development and prototyping.
Technical Expertise: Provide technical support to Installed Base teams for design fixes and customer escalations.
Full Lifecycle Engagement: Engage in all phases of new product introduction, from concept and architecture to documentation, design, prototype, testing, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction, and service support.
Required Qualifications:
Education: BS in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of relevant industry experience, including 3+ years of wireless/RF experience.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in digital design and control, wireless test equipment (protocol analyzer, spectrum analyzer, etc.), and typical electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, wireless protocol analyzers).
Project Management: Working knowledge of project management processes and procedures.
System Integration: Experience with PWA board bring-up and system integration.
Desired Characteristics:
Advanced Education: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Extensive Experience: 5+ years of relevant work experience in RF/Wireless.
Design Expertise: Schematic capture experience and demonstrated experience in designing standard bus formats (PCIe, CAN, Ethernet, USB, I2C).
WiFi Implementation: Experience in implementing WiFi in design and productizing, working with commercially available chipsets and antenna solutions.
Protocol Familiarity: Familiarity with industry-standard wireless protocols (WiFi, Bluetooth, WiGig) and embedded processors, drivers, and defining interfaces to WiFi chipsets.
Simulation Skills: Proficiency in MATLAB or equivalent simulation/modeling tools.
Self-Starter: Demonstrated self-starter, energizing, results-oriented, and able to multi-task.
Teamwork: Excellent teamwork, coordination, and communication skills.
Project Planning: Experienced in developing project plans and estimates.
Communication: Effective oral and written communication skills.
EMC Design: Experience in EMC-compatible design/solutions.

For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $131,200.00-$196,800.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
