The Senior Wireless Network Analyst plays a critical role in managing a production-capable wireless network and designing, implementing, optimizing, and maintaining high-performance wireless networks. This position requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, in-depth knowledge of wireless equipment, WLAN standards, design, and protocols, as well as the ability to mentor junior IT staff. The Senior Wireless Network Analyst also needs to be an effective communicator and collaborator with vendors, network technicians, desktop support technicians, and customers to achieve business goals. Strong customer service skills and the ability to support mission-critical applications, which may require working outside of normal business hours, are essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Blueprint, plan, deploy, document, and improve wireless networks by collaborating with vendors, managers, and other Network Technical Team members.

  • Conduct wireless surveys using survey hardware and software at all facilities.

  • Availability to travel to US and International locations on a regular basis.

  • Define and document global wireless network standards.

  • Manage controller-based wireless networks.

  • Manage and deploy wireless hardware (access points, antennas, mounting, lightning arrestor, surge protection, etc.).

  • Manage Radius and TACACS+ servers.

  • Manage Network Access Control (NAC) System.

  • Design, document, and validate the performance, quality, and reliability of the wireless networks.

  • Use tools to forecast, evaluate, test, and configure wireless environments.

  • Devise and support radio frequencies (RF) link performance, reliability, and quality.

  • Optimize network performance by monitoring performance, addressing network problems, and partnering with Network and IT technicians to troubleshoot reported wireless issues.

  • Work with Cyber Security Team to evaluate threats, troubleshoot issues, and comply with appropriate security configuration standards of their organizations.

  • Develop and implement processes, procedures and policies and classify and oversee access to protect network systems.

  • Proactively handle all wireless network security solutions.

  • Oversee in-house technicians to guide them in implementing and/or troubleshooting wireless technologies.

  • Make use of enterprise monitoring tools.

  • Develop and maintaining mechanisms for backing up and retrieval of systems critical to the wireless environment.

  • Collaborate with the telecommunication team and facilities stakeholders to ensure the optimized performance of VoIP and other wireless telecommunication devices.

  • Work with the Application & Desktop Support Teams to design and deploy changes to the configurations of clients as per the applicable change management process.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A blend of academic credentials and hands-on experience in fields pertinent to IT, such as electrical engineering or information technology.

  • 3-5 years of specific experience in the implementation and management of wireless network infrastructure, including project management, planning, designing, documenting, installation and fine-tuning the deployment.

  • 8-10 years of experience in the implementation and management of network infrastructure (routers, firewalls, switches, etc.) including project management, planning, designing, documenting, installation and fine-tuning the deployment.

  • At least 5 years of direct experience in managing multiple vendor relationships.

  • Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders across diverse geographical sites and driving successful project outcomes.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in global operations, demonstrating a strong ability to work with and lead multicultural teams, with a preference for candidates who have excelled in an international team environment.

  • Experience documenting network flow.

  • Experience creating diagrams used in installing wireless infrastructure.

  • 25% travel within WI

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.

  • Cisco Network Certification(s)

  • HPE/Aruba Wireless Network Certification(s)

  • Certified Wireless Design Professional (CWDP) Certification(s)

  • Ekahau Certified Solutions Engineer Training & Certification(s)

  • Extensive experience in designing, installing, and supporting wireless environments in office, warehouse and manufacturing environments. Indoor and outdoor applications may apply.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Experience using MS Visio to create network documentation and flow.

  • Experience using CAD applications to create deployment documentation.

  • Experience using Cisco Wireless Controller and/or HPE Aruba Central platforms.

  • Experience using Ekahau Sidekick-2 and AI Pro software.

  • Experience using Solarwinds tools.

  • Experience using WhatsUp Gold.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and be comfortable using power equipment and lifts up to 40 feet as needed to replace wireless system parts. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
