Eaton Corporation Senior Manager, Accounting- Strategic Programs in Waukesha, Wisconsin

Eaton is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to Support Strategic Programs within the North America Controllership of Electrical Sector – Americas (ES-A) in Cleveland, OH, Pittsburgh, PA, or Milwaukee, WI. Relocation is offered for this position and travel is 25%.

Reporting to the Regional Director for Electrical Sector Americas, the Senior Accounting Manager serves as the accounting support to the V.P. of Finance Operations and strategic programs team, providing timely and accurate information and direction to drive management action. The role is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the various systems & processes within this discipline, ensuring compliance to corporate financial policies, GAAP, and legal requirements, specifically around new plants, plant expansions, ERP conversions and acquired locations. This is a unique opportunity to lead the efforts of executing strategic projects in support of the operational and growth goals of ES-A, including advising on foundational decisions during set up/establishment of location processes and ERP processes, with a keen eye on compliance and controls establishment as well. This role will be heavily focused on business case ERP set up, use cases, establishing standard accounting practices, estimating resources needs, and partnering with shared service teams to ensure they are ramping up required resources as well.

What you’ll do:

• Evaluate and drive results for activities required for the new site set up or new product set up, including ledger setup, IT processes, and local government regulations (IMMEX where required, tax, etc.)

• Demonstrate the organizational skills required to deal with multiple “high priority” duties and demonstrate the ability to handle multiple priorities against multiple deadlines.

• Coordinate and assist with month-end closing activities including the completion of all needed journal entries and maintain accuracy of general ledger related to start up projects as needed.

• Develop and coordinate the hand-off of standardized accounting processes and procedures for the new site/product line.

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve business processes and communicate effectively to prevent reporting errors. Review, analyze and evaluate financial data and information for accuracy, consistency, and transparency. Maintain integrity of financial reports prepared. And you will demonstrate solid analytical skills.

• Understand the vision of the business and take an active role in furthering that vision. Knowledgeable of accounting and controls best practices, GFSS model/scope, and process optimization.

• Manage capital spending within profit plan and forecast targets for large projects. You will review and maintain fixed assets subsidiary records ensuring proper documentation, reporting requirements, fixed tag listings, movement, and disposal of assets with proper documentation and authorization.

• Ensure that all business-related activities are conducted within the guidelines of Eaton Corporation financial policies and procedures and that all internal controls therein adhere to Sarbanes Oxley requirements. Adhere to and comply with all ISO 14001/EHS, TS 16949 standards, procedures, and guidelines.

• Collaborate with members of the strategic projects team ensuring understanding of project scope and expectations, supporting data requests, reports and presenting detailed plans to senior leaders as required.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

• Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in accounting and/or finance.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA or advanced degree.

• Manufacturing experience.

• Comprehensive knowledge of corporate financial policies, procedures, and systems.

• Experience with systems like Oracle Financials, Mapics ERP, SAP, VISTA, and ENCORE.

• Fluent in Spanish.

• Strong manufacturing accounting background and solid understanding of financial accounting systems.

• Technical capability to prepare, review, and interpret financial and operations data/reports.

• Solid working knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Working knowledge of pronouncements of external regulatory bodies, such as Financial Accounting Standards Board, SEC, IRS, etc. Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $136500.03 - $200200.04 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
