Eaton Corporation Internship: EHS Technician - Waukesha, WI in Waukesha, Wisconsin

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Internship: EHS Technician - Waukesha, WI to join our team on Badger Dr. in Waukesha, WI!

The hourly rate for this position is $22.30 per hour. This is a part-time temporary role that will work between 20-25 hours per week.

What you’ll do:

The primary function of the EHS Technician - Intern is to support the EHS efforts at the site. Individual is accountable for: supporting EHS initiatives (events, campaigns, assessments, etc), collection and organization of EHS action items, supporting EHS training and participating in incident investigations.

In this function, you will:

  • Assist with the implementation of MESH (Management System of Environmental, Safety, Security and Health).

  • Support risk assessment at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects.

  • Support tracking of appropriate leading and lagging indicators

  • Support and promote zero incident EHS culture throughout site.

  • Support efforts to ensure and track that all key EHS operational controls are in place (checklists, periodic area revisions, EHS daily routines, etc.)

  • Support document creation and implementation.

  • Support the different EHS related activities in the site (drills, MESH Week, Trainings, campaigns, etc.)

  • Participate in deep dive investigations to determine the root cause of persistent issues with plant equipment. Investigations will often involve multifunctional teams and utilize common problem-solving tools such as 5-Why, 8D and fish bone charts

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution and/or actively taking classes towards an EHS degree/certificate and/or related field from an accredited institution

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in risk assessment EHS

  • Experience with Microsoft applications (Excel, Power Point, Word) and Sharepoint

Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a team-oriented environment.

  • Understanding of problem-solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) - i.e., thought maps, 8D, root cause analysis, 5

  • Why, A3s, etc

  • Ability to train and share knowledge.

  • Ergonomics knowledge
