Eaton Corporation Inspector C - 3rd Shift in Waukesha, Wisconsin

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Inspector C - 3rd Shift to join our team on Lincoln Ave. in Waukesha, WI!

The hourly rate for this position is $22.30 per hour + $2.50/hr shift premium. The core hours are 11 pm - 7 am.

This position is offering a sign-on bonus of $3,000*, less applicable withholding .

*Bonus terms:

  • Bonuses are being offered for a limited time only. Applications must be submitted on or after January 1 st , 2024 to qualify.

  • Bonuses are only applicable to specific job types and shifts; additional terms and conditions may apply.

  • Associates must be employed at the time of the payout.

  • Bonuses will be payable in two installments: $1,000, less applicable withholding will be paid after three (3) months of employment and the remaining $2,000, less applicable withholding will be paid after nine (9) months of employment

What you’ll do:

Perform assembly inspection of transformers/regulators at various locations in the assembly plants per established procedures. Perform electrical testing on assembled single and three-phase transformers/regulators per established procedures. Monitor conformance to quality standards

In this function, you will:

  • Perform the following tests as required per established procedures: ratio (variety), resistance (variety), continuity, VFI, CT, and hipot (applied potential).

  • Inspection of unit nameplates, stamp impedance value on nameplates, and secure nameplates to tested units.

  • Complete weekly oil sample tests.

  • Perform visual inspection on interior of unit upon completion of testing.

  • Perform minor maintenance of test equipment.

  • Perform special routine tests when required.

  • Assisting Engineering and Manufacturing in identifying and resolving shop floor problems.

  • Completing various company forms to communicate inspection status and other information and to document inspection results per established procedures.

  • Collecting various types of data per established procedures as require.

  • Understand and follow the EQMS policies.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of (1) One year of experience as a transformer or regulator assembler, or equivalent experience in electronics or electrical assembly, HVAC or variable frequency drive assembly.

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-duty military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education in AC/DC fundamentals, or equivalent knowledge of electrical prints / schematics (minimum of 1 year)

  • Previous experience in electrical inspection / troubleshooting, or equivalent experience in electronics or electrical assembly, HVAC or variable frequency drive assembly.

  • Minimum of one year of transformer or electronics and electrical testing experience.

Skills:

  • Ability to interpret prints and applicable engineering and quality specifications.

  • Demonstrated effective communication skills.

  • Be responsible for his/her own work, under minimal supervision and instruction.

  • Ability to work overtime when required.

  • Ability to meet or exceed quality and quantity standards.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
