Generac Power Systems Director Sustainability Strategy and Disclosure in Waukesha, Wisconsin

Primary Purpose

Leads the development and implementation of the company's sustainability strategy. Responsible for integrating sustainability into business operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and enhancing transparency in sustainability disclosures.

Major Responsibilities

Sustainability Strategy Development:

Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy aligned with the company’s mission and values.

Identify and assess sustainability risks and opportunities across the organization.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including leadership, employees, customers, and suppliers, to promote sustainability initiatives.

Serve as the primary point of contact for sustainability-related inquiries.

Regulatory Compliance:

Design and validate processes in support of ESG disclosure for regulatory requirements including CSRD, SEC reporting and potential state legislation.

Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability reporting standards.

Keep abreast of emerging trends and legislation related to sustainability.

Disclosure and Reporting:

Oversee the preparation of sustainability reports and disclosures, ensuring accuracy and alignment with industry standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).

Communicate sustainability performance and progress to stakeholders through regular reporting.

Ensure data integrity of scope 1 and 2 reporting and develop methodology and model for scope 3 reporting consistent with GRI reporting standard.

Performance Metrics and Goals:

Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure sustainability initiatives and track progress toward goals.

Analyze data and report findings to executive leadership and the board of directors.

Education and Advocacy:

Foster a culture of sustainability within the organization through training and awareness programs.

Advocate for sustainable practices across all departments.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, business administration, or a related field

Certification / License:

Work Experience:

7 years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, or corporate social responsibility

5 years direct or indirect people leadership

Project management experience.

Strong knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks and regulations.

Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.

Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
