Manulife Strategy Analyst Co-op/Intern (Waterloo) – Summer 2025 in Waterloo, Ontario
Manulife Canada's Individual Insurance area is seeking a Strategy Analyst Intern/Co-op for Summer 2025, based in our Waterloo office. This role is essential to our strategic planning process, offering valuable insights through market research, data analysis, and support for strategic initiatives. The intern/co-op will gain hands-on experience in market research, data analysis, strategic planning, and project management, directly contributing to the growth strategy of our Individual Insurance sector.
Position Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive market research and analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
Gather, organize, and manage data from various internal and external sources to support strategic analysis.
Assist in financial modeling and data analysis to evaluate the opportunity sizing and impact of strategic initiatives.
Support the development and implementation of strategic plans and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align objectives with business goals.
Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the progress of strategic initiatives and prepare regular reports and dashboards.
Support project management activities, ensuring project timelines and deliverables are met through coordination with stakeholders.
Prepare presentations and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and participate in strategic discussions.
Identify opportunities for process improvements within the strategy team and assist in the development and implementation of these initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Finance, or a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to synthesize complex information and present it concisely. Comfortable with quantitative and financial analyses.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation abilities to clearly articulate concepts and objectives in diverse environments.
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Skilled at building strategic partnerships and engaging key stakeholders effectively.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects within tight timelines.
Good business acumen with an understanding of and interest in corporate strategy development and execution. Prior industry or consulting experience is an asset.
