The Vermont Agency of Human Services (AHS) is seeking dedicated and compassionate Emergency Management Specialists to join our team and assist with disaster case management services and emergency management planning.. This is a great chance to support Vermonters as they recover from natural disasters, including flooding, by providing critical support throughout all phases of emergency management.

As an Emergency Management Specialist, you will play a key role in coordinating and delivering essential services before, during, and after disasters. You will work across a variety of sectors to ensure the well-being of individuals and families affected by natural disasters, focusing on areas such as mass care, emergency assistance, housing, human services, and individual assistance support.

We are recruiting for 2 positions, one will support 3/4 of the northeast Kingdom counties and the other will support Washington, Chittenden and Addison counties.

Environmental Factors

Duties are generally performed in an office setting; however, in the event of an emergency, the incumbent may be required to stay overnight at the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC). The incumbent will be required to operate in high stress situations in the event of an actual emergency and during short and long-term recovery operations.
