Commander, Navy Installations OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST in Washington Navy Yard, District Of Columbia
Summary You will serve as a OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST in the OPERATIONS DIRECTORATE (N3) of COMMANDER - NAVAL INSTALLATIONS. Responsibilities You will serve as an Operations Research Analyst for Operations Directorate (N3) supporting integration of data infrastructure within the directorate made up of 10 Headquarters Program Directors (HPDs) and assigned staffing. You will conduct research and statistical analysis of emergent manpower issues using mathematical models. You will analyze results of mathematical models and simulations to identify actual cost data, cost analysis requirements or summarize findings. You will collaborate with senior managers and decision makers to identify, solve, or articulate operational research requirements. You will use fundamental concepts and techniques of operations research to solve problems, identify trends, or improve programs You will use mathematical and economic analysis approach in the development of manpower models. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Designing or developing mathematical, statistical, and econometric operations research models in support of manpower requirements determinations; 2) Providing automation solutions and support, data manipulation, entry and conversion in support of manpower requirements determination programs; 3) Collecting, analyzing or presenting information to senior leadership with new and developing software to include Automated Intelligence (AI); 4) Developing program objectives or providing guidance concerning infrastructure support issues and resources; NOTE: This experience must be supported in your resume. OR Successful completion of a Bachelor's or higher level degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
