Aston Carter Sourcing Manager in Washington, Missouri

Description:

• Supplier Performance

• Monitors PQDC metrics for the procurement organization and manages the associated internal and external actions required to improve performance

• Manages Supplier Corrective Actions (SCARs) and facilitates internal root cause efforts that may impact supplier performance

• Negotiates purchase price, payment terms and lead time focused on market research, purchase price history and other cost and cash impact factors

• Investigates and implements corrective actions for delivery related issues

• Facilitates ongoing Supplier Performance Commercial Reviews with cross-functional Teams focused on the business’ KPI’s

• Effectively collaborates with Supply Partners to deliver the best supply solution for Company and mutually beneficial results for the Supply Partners

• Manages the associated actions with responsible parties within the organization and with Suppliers

• Strategic Sourcing

• Manages the maintenance of the Supplier Scorecard, associated KPI’s and Strategic Sourcing Projects for the business

• Executes Sourcing Events based on the effective Categorization and Segmentation of the Supply Base and the overall impact to the business

• Develops long-term contracts where all commercial terms are clearly outlined and expectations of Suppliers and Company are clearly understood

• Pricing and payment terms

• Necessary stocking arrangements with detailed parts liability

• Quality and Delivery expectations

• Freight terms

• Order execution details

• Product development support

• Other commercial and legal requirements

• Management Review

• Responsible for preparing and presenting the Sourcing Review to the Executive Management Team

• Overall Supplier performance

• Key market impacts on supply

• Inventory investment

• Sourcing Project Funnel and individual project review

• Annual savings projections for the Business and impact on budget

• New Product Development

• Provide Supply Chain support for New Product Development initiatives

• Complete the appropriate evaluation for supply partners and the associated products to foster successful product launch

• Negotiate pricing and other commercial terms to ensure the long-term success of new products

• Tactical Purchasing Support

• Supports the Procurement Organization with systemic Supplier performance-related issues

• Supports tactical purchasing activities (purchase order entry, confirmations, expedites) when necessary

• Fosters a culture where continuous improvement is in the forefront of everyone’s mind

• Mentors and trains other staff on root cause analysis and the associated waste eliminating activities

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business Management, Economics or Engineering

Preferred Certifications: APICS CPIM or CSCP

Experience:

5 years working in a manufacturing environment

3 years working in purchasing and supply management

Proven results managing supplier performance

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required

Practice applied mathematics in collecting and quantifying data to make informed decisions for the business

Effective presentation of data (pareto charts and other visual graphs) to present recommendations

Ability to learn manufacturing processes, material manipulation methods and other key supply-related factors

Ability to effectively organize and operate in a high-paced, dynamic work environment

Ability to work and communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization

Collaborative (very much a team environment)
