POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently seeking a CNC Programmer who aids in supporting the shop floor with programs and all necessary support documents to run parts made from a variety of material types on 3 axis machines and sheet metal equipment. Assist the shop in problem solving and optimization of part programs. Assist Programmer II with updates on low to medium complexity 4 and 5 axis programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in planning for production of 3 axis and sheet metal parts
Determine saw length or sheet size
Determine number of parts in a setup or sheet
Assist in creating any simple tooling needed to hold or form the parts
Assist in creating and optimizing NC programs for 3 axis and sheet metal parts
Update repeat jobs to current internal standards and latest engineering revision (includes, 3, 4, and 5 axis and sheet metal) Assist in creating shop drawings, setup sheets, tool list, and other production aids as needed
Assist 3 axis and sheet metal machine operators when program problems arise
Assist Programmer 2 with tool and method tests
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES
2-year Technical Degree or equivalent relevant experience desired
2-year minimum programming in a comparable CAD/CAM software or shop floor experience running the similar types of equipment as what will be programed is desired
Must be comfortable operating a computer
General knowledge of Excel.
This position requires a good understanding of part holding, machine operation and G code as well as knowledge of advanced machining techniques.
Good reasoning, problem solving, and communication skills (verbal and written) are needed for this position.
Flexibility and open mindedness are desired
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud
Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye, ear, and foot protection
May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10-50 pounds
