Job Title: UAS Systems Engineer

Job Description

Actalent is seeking a UAS Systems Engineer/Project Manager to support FAA NextGen concepts for drones and unmanned flights. This individual will lead improvements for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and integration into the National Airspace System (NAS).

Day to Day:

  • Be the SME in UAS Traffic Management (UTM), Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) to mature current concepts, conduct prototyping/demonstration activities, and write technical papers to establish processes, procedures, standards for domestic and international operations

  • Apply NextGen ATM concepts and the NAS to assess technical requirements and issues to coordinate a resolution

  • Lead meetings with stakeholders, SMEs, vendors, and FAA partners

Hard Skills

  • Project Lead/Project Management experience

  • NAS (National Airspace System) experience

  • FAA experience

  • Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) experience

  • 5+ years of Engineering experience

Soft Skills

  • Client facing

  • Client communication

  • Client presentation

Work Site

This is a remote position with onsite meetings 1-2 times a week in Washington, DC. Candidates must be local to D.C. since the meetings are onsite at the FAA.
