PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Support projects for Exelon Utilities IT specific to the Real Time organization
Interact with Control Center personnel, Operations Technologies (e.g. RTUs) engineers and other support personnel.
Assist both IT and Business partners with the planning the introduction of new technologies and/or identifying the most appropriate technology choices to accomplish goals by utilizing Exelon’s standard governance process as outlined in the Management Model
Lead solution development activities (security, coding, deployments, maintenance, troubleshooting, etc.) for Exelon Utilities Real Time strategic solutions including: SCADA, Outage Management, Advanced Grid solutions, and Geospatial Information System
Collaborate with peer organizations and vendors to design various interfaces with related systems.
Assist with planning and management of project scope, schedule, and budget to provide a quality deliverable on time and on budget. Establish milestones, anticipate issues and monitor/control project scope and schedule.
Manage the fundamentals of project financials including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues
Assist with effective stakeholder relationships by providing consistent communication and transparency through effective status reporting
Review impact and identify consequences of system changes, builds, and installations, to ensure that all service level agreements and operational compliance requirements are met
Maintain technical knowledge and business acumen
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or related discipline and hands-on practical IT experience (data model, interfaces, SQL reporting solutions) and typically 5 to 8 years experience in project management or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or achieve CAPM within two years of job entry (PMP certification will fulfill this requirement). Must be able to obtain a PMP within 1-2 years of assuming the role.
Demonstrated and documented success at managing IT projects. Experience in large scale project delivery and system development lifecycles.
Strong knowledge of IT Change Control and Source Control methodologies.
Experience leading IT projects or subteams and knowledge of IT project management.
Ability to work independently and as a team leader including the ability to handle conflicting priorities in a multi-task environment
Demonstrated strong independent judgment skills and strong analytical ability
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and time management skills
Excellent communications and presentation skills (written and verbal)
Proficiency in standard software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Project) and specialized applications for project management (e.g. HP PPM and/or Oracle OPPM)
Ability to work with remote project teams and travel occasionally to the various Utility geographies (e.g. Chicago, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and Baltimore)
Knowledge of business practices pertaining to Electric Operations.
Ability to navigate through complex problem solving within a matrix organization.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to see the big picture while prioritizing the work of multiple project teams
Excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss a project in the context of what is most important to the intended audience
Ability to influence, enable, and challenge stakeholders towards commitment and execution of project deliverables
Ability to navigate through complex problem solving within a matrix organization
Ability to learn in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
Experience performing analysis, design, programming and testing in procedural languages (Python, JAVA, C, VC++, VB, Unix scripting, etc.).
Experience with Utility business processes and/or realtime applications (e.g. SCADA, Outage Management, GIS)
Experience with various aspects of application consolidation/rationalization projects
Experience with platform and business process consolidation projects
Experience with leading cross Business Unit technology projects working with Business and Vendor resources
Project management experience and skills
Experience in managing and reporting project budget, accruals, and resource forecasting
Understanding of security policies, procedures, NIST standards, and best practices
