Job Description

We are looking for aSenior Network Engineerwith aPublic Trust Clearance 3 years of Tier-3 Support experienceto support our Library of Congress effort. This is a remote/hybrid position.

This position is hybrid telecommute/on-site. Candidates must live in the commutable Washington, DC area

As aSenior Network Engineer,you will:

A week in the life ofSenior Network Engineer:

  • Provide Tier‐3 network operation and engineering support as identified by the Library

  • Tier‐3 network support engineers’ availability is required for evenings and weekends as required for Library

  • change Authorization Board (CAB) approved network changes

  • Tier‐3 network engineering support is required for technical emergencies and onsite support

  • Must deliver Tier‐3 network support engineering in case of a service disruption at the Library

  • Network Edge Support ‐ Provide Tier 3 troubleshooting, technical configuration settings, documentation,

  • security settings, and schedule for delivery

  • Palo Alto Networks ‐ All next‐generation firewall appliances ‐ Provide Tier‐3 troubleshooting, technical

  • configuration settings, patch analysis, security settings, future release features for implementation, and

  • schedule for delivery

  • Gigamon Network Monitoring Device ‐ Provide Tier‐3 troubleshooting, technical configuration settings,

  • patch analysis, security settings, future release features for implementation, and schedule for delivery

  • Cisco DNA Center ‐ Provide Tier 3 troubleshooting, technical configuration settings, patch analysis,

  • security settings, future release features for implementation, and schedule for delivery

  • Cisco Secure Network Analytics (StealthWatch) ‐ Provide Tier‐3 troubleshooting, technical configuration

  • settings, documentation of changes, patch analysis, security settings, future release features for

  • implementation, and schedule for delivery.

  • Cisco Secure Client AnyConnect VPN/F5 BIG‐IP Access Policy Manager (APM) and Local Traffic Manager

  • (LTM) ‐ Provide Tier‐3 troubleshooting, technical configuration settings, documentation, patch analysis, security settings, future release features for implementation, and schedule for delivery

  • Voice over IP (VoIP) Quality of Service (QoS) ‐ Provide for Tier‐3 troubleshooting, technical configuration settings, documentation of changes, patch analysis, security settings, future release features for

  • implementation, and schedule for delivery

  • Zero Trust, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) Implementation ‐ Provide Tier‐3 troubleshooting, technical

  • Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) ‐ Provide Tier‐3 troubleshooting, documentation, technical configuration settings, patch analysis, security settings, future release features for implementation, and schedule for delivery

  • Cisco FirePower (Next Generation Firewall) ‐ Provide Tier‐3 troubleshooting, technical configuration

  • settings, documentation of changes, patch analysis, security settings, future release features for

  • implementation, and schedule for delivery Citrix (Virtual Apps and Desktops) ‐ Provide Tier‐3 troubleshooting, technical configuration settings,

  • documentation of changes, patch analysis, security settings, future release features for implementation, and schedule for delivery

Provide continuous support during the following timeframes:

  • 7:00 am to 3:30 pm to assist government technical staff with operations and projects

  • 3:30 pm to 11:00 pm to support maintenance windows and handle service disruptions

  • Support maintenance windows during weekends and Holidays if needed

Job Requirements

  • 5 years of Network Engineer experience

  • Minimum qualifications for the network engineers include at least three (3) years of hands‐on experience providing Tier‐3 troubleshooting and support for enterprise networks, configuring network settings, analyzing and applying software patches and upgrades, and configuring network security settings. This experience shall include Tier‐3 support of Cisco, Citrix, Gigamon, Palo Alto, and Microsoft Edge technologies.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $125,000 – 150,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
