UnitedHealth Group Senior Functional Area Analyst - National Remote in Washington, District Of Columbia

As a Senior Functional Analyst you will work with customers, users and project leads in analyzing, designing, implementing and supporting a wide variety of IT business systems. This work will cover many diverse applications within healthcare and financial systems. In addition, you will assist other colleagues prepare recommendations for system improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts. You will help ensure LCNC platforms are available, scalable, and responsive to monitor platform performance uptime, degradations, and outages.

Primary Responsibilities:

As a Functional Analyst, Senior, you will;

  • Provide technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environment, detailed functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation and implementation advice on complex problems that require advanced level of subject matter expertise (SME) for effective implementation

  • Ensure the facts and details are correct so that the project's/program's deliverables will meet the needs of the stakeholders, legislation, policies, standards, and best practices

  • Good understanding of new capabilities available through a variety of cloud and low code/no code platforms

  • Apply principles, methods and knowledge of the functional area of capability to specific task order requirements, and methods to exceptionally difficult and narrowly defined technical problems to arrive at automated solutions

  • Assist other senior consultants with analysis and evaluation and with the preparation of recommendations for system improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts in the following specialties: information systems architecture, networking; telecommunications, automation; communications protocols, risk management/electronic analysis, software lifecycle management, software development methodologies, modeling, simulation and security

  • Commensurate experience in IT and in new and related older technology that directly relates to the required area of expertise

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline is required.

  • 10 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education

  • Requires ten (10) years of experience in the field or in a related area.

  • Significant experience with the analysis of business, functional, technical, activities, and events.

  • 5 plus years' experience with program audit preparation and contract management.

  • 5 plus years' experience simultaneously managing multiple disciplinary teams (each consisting of 10 or more team members)

  • Proven experience providing market research on conditions that impact the overall operational efficiency of an organization and identifying symptoms for process improvement.

  • Must have deep knowledge of process and risks and proven experience in implementing process improvement.

  • Have experience working with customers, users and project leads in analyzing, designing, implementing and supporting a wide variety of IT business systems covering many diverse applications such as healthcare and financial systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with the Federal Government and Heathcare verticals.

  • Strong understanding of FedRAMP ATO processes

  • Certifications related to the above required skills are of high importance

  • Able to provide oral and written discussion of analytical findings using narrative and graphic forms.

  • Ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting.

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security Public Trust 2 or 4 (level will depend on your role)

  • All work must be conducted in the United States.

  • Must be able to communicate both verbally and in written form.

  • Must be able to conduct work and be available in VA communication channels during (EST business hours)

California, Colorado, Nevada, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Hawaii, Washington, or Washington D.C Residents Only : The salary range for California, Colorado, Nevada, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Hawaii, Washington, or Washington D.C residents is $122,100 to $234,700 per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
