Prometheus Federal Services Senior Financial Analyst in Washington, District Of Columbia

Senior Financial Analyst

Prometheus Federal Services (PFS), a trusted partner to federal health and social services agencies, has an opening for a Financial Analyst. This individual will work closely with the project team and the client to ensure the budget is appropriately spent. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent Excel skills and a strong understanding of finance principles. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and possess exceptional reporting and presentation skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead teams on various finance projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion

  • Present program material to various audiences through presentations, reports, and other communication methods

  • Review budgets and compare program usage to budget, identifying discrepancies and recommending corrective actions

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making processes

  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure financial goals are met and provide financial insights to support project planning and execution

  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for executive leadership, committees, and other stakeholders

  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations and internal policies regarding financial management and reporting

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in financial analysis

  • Experience supporting the Veterans Health Administration (VHA)

  • Excellent Excel skills, including advanced functions and data analysis tools

  • Strong reporting and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively

  • Proven experience leading finance project delivery workstreams

  • Deep understanding of finance principles and practices

  • Strong customer presence with excellent communication (written and oral), presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship indefinitely

  • Ability to obtain a public trust

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • Government consulting budgeting experience is highly preferred

  • Familiarity with federal financial regulations and compliance requirements
