Summary This position is in the Division of Insurance and Research, Data Collection & Analysis Section, with responsibility for the design of financial information systems used in the analysis of condition and performance of FDIC-insured institutions. Responsibilities At the full performance level, major duties include: Provide analytical support for the design and development of complex financial information systems, assisting in the definition of system objectives, and providing detailed specifications for the data requirements and statistical analysis of financial data. Provides guidance to the Division and the FDIC regarding financial information gathering, identifying additional public and private sector sources of data that will enhance analyses and studies of FDIC issues. Undertakes diplomatic initiatives on behalf of the Division involving other FDIC offices and Divisions, and on behalf of the Corporation as a whole, involving outside groups, including other regulatory agencies and the public. Works independently with staff and management and other FDIC business units to define user requirements related to financial systems and their implications for the banking industry. Compile and supply information for incorporation into studies, policy decisions, and testimony. Orally presents analytical results to the management and professional staff of the Division, the FDIC and other organizations with an interest in these topics. Qualifications Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. CG-13 - To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS-12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: experience analyzing bank financial and non-financial information, resolving bank structure transactions, and collaborating with others to query data. CG-14 - To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS-13 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: experience leading a team prioritizing tasks and approving work, analyzing and resolving bank structure transactions, and collaborating with teams to resolve issues impacting information systems. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement. Education There is no substitution of education for the experience for this position. Additional Information Selectee(s) for this position will be required to report to their duty station office two days per week.
