Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Senior Business Technology Analyst (Data Management), CG-0301-13 (FPL 14) in Washington, District Of Columbia
Summary This position is located in the Division of Complex Institution Supervision and Resolution (CISR), Operations Branch, of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of advising and providing support on all matters related to CISR’s IT program including data management and reporting. Responsibilities Leads application and or systems development projects ensuring compliance with FDIC Enterprise Architecture (EA) standards and FDIC data sharing objectives. Performs analysis and review of the content of current knowledge delivery products to verify accuracy, usability, and logic. Ensures compliance with Agency policies and guidelines for managing, updating, storing, archiving, and deleting content. Develops, implements and supports CISR data governance processes to manage the life cycle of datasets in accordance with applicable records retention schedules. Performs pivotal research with regard to on-going data management system initiatives for capturing, cataloging, indexing, and presenting information. Assesses and reports on the feasibility of adopting new technology and data analysis paradigms within the current IT environment. Investigates data trends and anomalies from a vast set of data. Recommends new data collection and/or tracking methods. Develops, prepares, and updates comprehensive reports, charts, graphics, and presentations to illustrate findings in standardized formats for uniformity. Communicates information in a clear, concise and actionable manner in presentation and report format. Identifies areas for new content based on the needs of the customer. Prepares ad hoc reports and analysis. Develops a centralized storage source for maintaining historical data. Collaborates with Data Scientists and Analysts, Visualization Experts, and Senior Advisors to support and develop data and analytic reporting options. Collaborates across teams to identify key datasets and implement ingestion processes to onboard new datasets while maintaining alignment with FDIC Enterprise Architecture. Background Investigation (BI) required. Qualifications Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS-12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience implementing best practices in data management for retrieving and storing data analytics records, preparing analysis and reports for management, and researching new technology for a program office or agency.
