Department Of Energy Project Management Operations Director in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary This position is part of the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations, Department of Energy. As a Project Management Operations Director, you will be serving as the primary operations official for the Project Management Division (PMD) in the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED). Responsibilities As a Project Management Operations Director, you will: Direct and manage a variety of operational areas to include supporting Project Management Division (PMD) senior leadership and working with OCED's Business Operations Division on executive secretariat functions, correspondence, information and records management, human resources, and budget management related to PMD operations. Oversee the preparation of special analysis, projections, and responses to specific written and verbal requests from the OCED Principal Director for Project Management and Director for Project Management & Chief Scientist. Develop plans, policies and mission objectives for the analytical and administrative support provided and provides leadership, guidance, and coordination to form plans, policies, and objectives. Provides technical advice and strategic guidance to management and executives regarding the evaluation of operations, organizational design, and workforce and budget analytics. Ensure PMD's compliance with all Departmental and OCED rules, regulations and policies related to operational. Participates on working groups related to areas of responsibility. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following: Provide oversight to a program area to ensure goals and objectives are met; AND Developing and implementing tools and techniques to support efforts to evaluate, summarize, and prepare reports on risks and operational weaknesses; AND Preparing communications such as the development of mission statements and special reports within assigned areas. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
