Federal Aviation Administration Program Analyst in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary This position serves as a Program Analyst in a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Office of Policy, International Affairs & Environment (APL), Office of National Engagement & Regional Administration (ARA). The position reports to Executive Manager, ARA-3. Responsibilities The position supports corporate leadership and horizontal integration; organizational business planning; quality management; and various special projects associated with the APL/ARA organization. The Program Analyst works independently on routine and less complex assignments and receives closer supervision when performing more complex assignments. Performs multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team and may perform some leadership functions for small projects/programs or other work activities. Provides staff support for programs and projects on a variety of community engagement related matters. Supports ARA strategic and regional plans and provides input on future plans and efforts related to their execution. Participates in organizational performance and business planning. Develops, implements, tracks, and manages ARA Business Plan and supplements to it. Tracks and reports accomplishments related to the implementation of ARA Business Plan. Collaborates and works closely with other managers and staff on similar work products and requests to accomplish program objectives, additionally provides backup support as needed. Resolves most problems and work issues without the assistance of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Refers to managers and professionals who are more experienced problems that require their attention. May help them develop and recommend solutions. Participates or facilitates management groups in support of leadership, horizontal integration, or special projects. Prepares agendas, facilitates, and make arrangements for meetings. Ensures prompt response and appropriate level of follow-through. Handles additional responsibilities such as ARA correspondent management, reviewing incoming memos, submissions, and reports in order to determine their significance and to plan for their distribution. Contacts typically are internal and external, with regular contacts among major subdivisions and LOB's/SO's, customers, and other external parties to share information about the FAA and explain the applications of policies and procedures. Work is reviewed periodically, typically at major milestones and at completion, for policy compliance and alignment with the requirements of projects and/or other work activities. Qualifications To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-G, FG/GS-10/11 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
