As part of the Energy, Resilience and Sustainability (ERS) Division, you will collaborate with experts to provide comprehensive policy, planning, and implementation services to deliver solutions that address critical infrastructure resilience and security issues and support the military mission, while reducing environmental impacts. The ERS Division is seeking a principal electrical engineer to support senior Department of the Defense clients focused on public works, utilities and energy issues. The position will serve as a technical consultant concerning electrical and power engineering aspects of new construction and repair/RCx projects, including design, analysis, construction oversight, and or transmission and distribution. This is a client-site position, with future potential to work remotely while participating in some in-person client and team meetings and/or site visits. Some travel is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the power, microgrid, or transmission and distribution engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the program.
- Review and analyze engineering solutions to various power system, microgrid or transmission and distribution engineering issues
- Prepare and review reports studying power, microgrid and transmission and distribution engineering problems
- Collaborate with a team to identify and solve engineering challenges
- Perform and review hands on wiring of electrical panel and machine needs from one line and layout diagrams
- Perform engineering studies and evaluations
- Prepare cost estimates for system development
- Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files and preparing reports

``` - Lead communications with Government stakeholders and develop and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor
Basic Qualifications:
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering plus 8 - 10 years of directly related experience
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years of electrical/power engineering experience to include design, analysis, and construction oversight of DoD electrical or power projects
- Demonstrated experience in power, microgrid, or transmission and distribution engineering comparable in complexity to Public Works requirements
- Proven capability to independently initiate, track and manage tasks, with a high degree of detail, quality, and process orientation
- Willingness and ability to set priorities and deliver under tight deadlines in a heavy workload environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to clearly articulate complex ideas for senior leadership as well as technical staff consumption.
- Ability to work in teams, and establish and maintain cross-functional and working relationships.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) and Certified Energy Manager certifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Common Access Card (CAC)
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Navy structure and operations
Experience working with commercial utility providers in the delivery of services and rate structure development
Experience in government consulting or supporting government organizations
