Corner Alliance Events Lead / Project Manager in Washington, District Of Columbia

About the Role:

As an Events Lead / Project Manager supporting our Federal government client, you will be trusted to direct and guide core planning, development, and execution of strategic outreach plans, trade show exhibits, event designs, speaker abstract submissions and messaging and marketing products. You will lead concurrent planning and execution activities with varying resources and deadlines within a fast-paced Federal agency environment, which provides communications and outreach services for homeland security scientists and engineers.

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):  

  • Advise the strategy, design, and tactical execution of events and exhibits to include supporting marketing campaigns, communication products and attendee experience and engagement to promote the advances and accomplishments for a government research organization.

  • Direct full-cycle event logistics to include market research and event selection, vendor sourcing and/or management, budgets, content development, and staffing guidance.

  • Serve as a strategic leader and collaborator with internal and external stakeholders to develop outreach approaches, messaging and communication products such as calendars and agendas, briefing materials, run-of-show scripts, and talking points.

  • Contribute and lead portions of strategic communications plans.

  • Research, conceptualize, and coordinate print and digital products including websites, posters, handouts, animations and video scripts.

  • Quickly establish, develop, and foster relationships with target stakeholders across governmental, industry, and academia.

  • Lead a team of dedicated communications professionals. 

  • Lead and complete Corner Alliance internal project management activities including managing staff time, invoicing, financial management, facilitating internal contracting actions, participate and lead parts of monthly project reviews, and other project management actions as needed.

    Location:

    You will telework based in the Washington, DC area, with up to 30% travel/onsite work locally and out of state.

    Required Experience/Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years or Masters degree and 6+ years of relevant experience.

  • Degree must be in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or other relevant domain.

  • Experience developing and implementing strategic messaging campaigns and outreach engagements such as conference exhibitions and large scale virtual events.

  • Experience in strategic planning and execution, facilitating and presenting information in-person and via tele-conferencing.

  • Experience managing conference and exhibit logistics, communicating proposal requirements, timelines, resources needed, and ability to work collaboratively and independently.

  • Experience managing virtual meeting platforms, including MS Teams and Zoom webinar capabilities

  • Experience writing digital products, crafting narrative design, and tech editing, including blogs, social media, web content, meeting agendas, and general talking-points and messaging.

  • Able to cultivate relationships and provide trusted customer service with colleagues and nationwide stakeholders across government and non-government organizations.

  • Able to multitask, work independently and collaboratively to complete diverse assignments, including strategic planning for marketing and speaking content, and responding to ad-hoc calls for information.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (especially Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

  • US citizenship or permanent resident and the ability to pass public trust clearance or suitability

    Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Experience supporting Federal agencies with strategic communications, meetings management, and stakeholder outreach/engagement.

  • Credentialed in full lifecycle event planning - Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and/or Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP).

  • Experience promoting new and emerging technology/trends.

  • Able to shape the development of digital and multimedia content, including social media, graphical images, logos, and creative designs for audio-visual, and web messaging.

    Salary:

    Approximate Salary Estimate: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 annually
