Library Systems & Services Client Engagement Manager in Washington, District Of Columbia

LAC Federal is seeking a Client Engagement Manager (CEM) for the Washington DC Metro Area.

The CEM will be responsible for owning and cultivating client relationships through regular communication and interaction with company employees at client sites. This role involves overseeing multiple client projects simultaneously, proactively monitoring staff performance, managing project costs, and identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with existing clients. The position is predominantly remote, with an expectation of visiting client sites as needed within the Washington DC Metro Area. Corporate offices are available in downtown Washington, DC (Metro Center) and Rockville, MD. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.

Please note:

  • We do not offer relocation for this role.

  • Candidates must live within the Washington DC Metro Area and must have access to transportation for client site visits.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain proactive and positive relationships with assigned clients, addressing and resolving contract-related issues and regularly checking on contract progress.

  • Manage all assigned employees, including regular performance check-ins, recruiting efforts, employee reviews, and corrective actions.

  • Assist the recruiting team with backfilling open positions, serving as the liaison between client needs and the recruiting team.

  • Drive employee engagement and cultivate a strong culture across company contracts.

  • Act as the liaison between on-site clients and corporate functions (e.g., finance, HR).

  • Manage contract deliverables by proactively managing project staff and the scope of work.

  • Assist in the review and processing of timecards and invoices each month.

  • Actively identify and pursue growth opportunities at assigned agencies and support proposal efforts as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

  • At least 3 years of working experience, with 1-2 years in a client-facing and federal project management role.

  • Strong interpersonal and client-facing skills.

  • Ability to build relationships with federal clients and manage both on-site and remote employees.

  • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and strong communication skills.

  • Preliminary knowledge of federal contracting.

  • Strong preference for a background in libraries, archives, and museums.

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple teams and projects.

  • Business development experience.
