Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Facilities Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of work including the preventative maintenance and assistance in the repair of building and grounds in assigned areas. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong background in building maintenance, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to customer service.
Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on building and grounds in assigned areas.
Assist in the repair and troubleshooting of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and lighting systems.
Conduct painting and other general maintenance tasks as needed.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
Ensure all maintenance work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Communicate effectively with team members and customers.
Lift and move heavy objects (50+ lbs) on a daily basis.
Essential Skills
6+ months of building maintenance experience within apartment complexes or hotels.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs daily.
Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and email.
Customer service experience in previous roles.
Experience working on rooftop HVAC units.
Familiarity with VAV (Variable Air Volume) Boxes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in maintenance at hotels or apartment complexes.
Experience in a customer-focused environment (apartments, hotels, corporate facilities).
Experience with facilities maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
Ability to perform maintenance tasks in residential and contractor settings.

Work Environment
This role takes place at a hotel in Washington, D.C. The facility has 252 rooms and operates at about 20% capacity. The maintenance team consists of 3 employees providing coverage from 8 AM to 8 PM, 7 days a week. Shifts include: Option 1: Friday, Saturday, Sunday (8 AM - 4 PM) | Monday, Tuesday (12 PM - 8 PM) or Option 2: Wednesday - Sunday (12 PM - 8 PM). The role does not require entering occupied hotel rooms.

This is a Contract position based out of Washington, District of Columbia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00
