Koniag Professional Services, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Budget Analyst I to support KPS and our government customer in Washington, DC. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.

The Budget/Financial Analyst I will play a critical role in providing financial management information, including availability of funds, status of obligations, and expenditures. This position will be responsible for cyclical budget formulation, preparing detailed analyses and estimates of annual funding requirements for future budget years. The Budget/Financial Analyst I will develop recommended budgets in accordance with legislative and regulatory guidance, collaborating with program officials to monitor and control the use of funds. Additionally, this role will maintain integrated financial systems, apply financial administration practices and procedures, track invoices, research complex financial issues, and prepare monthly reports. The successful candidate will gain proficiency in the Department's financial systems, such as the Global Financial Management System (GFMS) and Data Warehouse (DW).
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited university
Minimum of 2 years of experience in conducting studies involving multiple organizational levels and processes/functions
Required Skills and Competencies:
Superior oral and written communication and customer service skills
Strong analytical and research skills to analyze complex financial data and prepare comprehensive documentation to support recommendations
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make logical decisions based on financial data analysis
Proficiency in creating and editing complex financial spreadsheets and analyzing trends
Knowledge of financial policies, regulations, FAMs, and FARs
Ability to maintain ISO 9001 standards
Desired Skills and Competencies:
Experience with the Department's financial systems (GFMS, Data Warehouse)
Familiarity with financial management reporting and integrated financial services
Knowledge of budgetary processes and legislative frameworks
