Job Overview

The Assistant Director Residential Operations supports operational management of 17 residential complexes on the Hilltop campus, throughout a 12-month cycle; supporting academic year operations August through May and Summer Operations May – August.

  • Develops & manages implementation of inspection schedule of over 5,700+ residential bed spaces & 94 common spaces including: Room Condition Reports (RCRs), transition housing inspections, damage billing, and health & safety inspections (fall & spring semesters).

  • Responsible for the data management and inventory maintenance for all moveable residential in residential complexes (resident units, lobbies, lounges)

  • Provides logistical management of residential furniture and equipment deliveries

  • This position assists in the recruitment, selection, training, supervision and evaluation of one professional staff, twenty student staff and one graduate assistant.

Work Interactions

This position reports to the Director of Housing Operations. Collaborates with professional & student staff within all residential buildings including but not limited to Resident Assistants, Community Directors, Residential Education Director team members, Facilities Management supervisors, and Project Managers. The ability to connect with and effectively communicate with various team members assures that Residential Services is able to efficiently liaison with residential students and guests on any potential issues within the residential buildings. This position also liaises with multiple campus partner units most notably Facilities Management & Residential Education to assure that known residential issues are identified and corrected in a timely manner.

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required. Two to three years project manager/operations administrative experience is required, with a strong preference in university housing. Must be computer literate with specific knowledge of and experience with word processing, spreadsheet and database software.

Familiarity with StarRez housing software is strongly preferred.

Must possess a valid Driver’s license. Must carry a University-provided cell phone during working hours.

Must have excellent interpersonal skills, strong customer service orientation, organizational, analytic and problem-solving skills. Must be able to work with limited supervision and contribute as a member of a diverse, innovative team. Comfort with public speaking as well as leading training sessions is preferred.

Must be able to work required weekends for academic year opening and closing in August, December and May.

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$47,586.00 - $87,558.13

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
