Job Overview

The Assistant Director of Admissions and Marketing provides primary support for all activities related to the recruitment and marketing of the Master of Science in Environment & International Affairs (MS-EIA) (https://eia.georgetown.edu/) program.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support all aspects of recruiting outreach, including creating the marketing strategy and recruitment plan, and coordinating and executing the lead and applicant journey

  • Implement all procedures for recruitment outreach and follow-up with prospects.

  • Ensure that all marketing content materials (both printed and online) are up to date and factually represent MS-EIA program goals

  • Create the communication and recruiting events strategy for the program, and travel to represent SFS at recruiting fairs (domestically/internationally).

  • Coordinate with the Admissions partners at the Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS), Earth Commons, and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) to ensure that all prospects who submit an application are efficiently passed on to the MS-EIA Program Coordinator

  • Develop and maintain full knowledge about the MS-EIA, MS-ESM and additional graduate program offerings in order to best guide prospects during their exploratory journey

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation

Reporting to the MS-EIA Program Director and the Earth Commons Institute staff, the Assistant Director of Admissions and Marketing ensures efficient flow of recruitment and admissions information and participation in recruitment related events.

As well, they coordinate with the SFS Director of Graduate Admissions and Enrollment Management, the program team for MS-ESM, and various Georgetown University offices, such as OSFS and the GSAS merit aid team; and interact on an ongoing basis with prospective and enrolling students by providing information in a professional and persuasive manner.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience in recruitment/admissions, marketing, communications, and/or business development – preference for higher education admissions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Outstanding interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Critical ability to multi-task, prioritize and execute

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to client service

  • Experience planning and managing a wide range of events and activities

  • Familiarity with marketing automation tools and/or CRM tools

  • Comfort in working directly with executives at all levels and a desire to engage with international cultures
