Georgetown Univerisity Assistant Director - Georgetown Event Management Services in Washington, District Of Columbia

Requirements

Georgetown Event Management Services ( (http://eventmanagement.georgetown.edu/) GEMS) provides scheduling and coordination of support services for event facilities and outdoor spaces on Main Campus. GEMS strive to meet the changing needs of students, staff, faculty, alumni and guests with co-curricular spaces that foster collaborative engagement, community dialogue and learning.

The Assistant Director (AD) assists the Director with daily operations of the office, and assumes responsibility for operations in the Director’s absence. The AD assists with creating and implementing operational policies and procedures as it relates to event services. S/he supervises the Events Manager and Access Coordinator (EMAC), assisting with hiring, training, and supervising student employees. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the management of formal spaces.

  • Screen user space requests for venue appropriateness and for legitimacy of user groups.

  • Ensure that users are aware of and comply with general Georgetown University policies as well as specific facility policies.

  • Maintain extensive files on all requests, policies, procedures, and correspondence regarding events.

  • Serve as the primary contact for all external clients using formal spaces, managing social media, marketing, and client responsiveness initiatives.

  • Conduct space tours and training on Virtual EMS Space Management System.

  • Schedule events and coordinate appropriate services for events and conferences in the activity facilities.

    Work Interactions This position reports directly to the Director of Georgetown Event Management Services. S/he provides direct supervision for the EMAC, graduate assistant, and student managers. The incumbent supports the EMAC in supervision of event assistants, student summer coordinators, and office assistants. The Assistant Director collaborates with the President’s Office, GU Police Department, Facilities Management, the Office of Communications, the Provost’s Office and other entities within the university. Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience

  • Experience with events management and/or accessibility support preferred

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$47,586.00 - $87,558.13

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
