Do you enjoy working outdoors?  Do you like working with your hands?  A Semi-Skilled Laborer position at Washington Crossing State Park may be the job for you.  Washington Crossing State Park is looking for a positive individual who strives to keep the park facilities in good working order for the safe, enjoyable recreation and relaxation of our park visitors.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK The primary objective of this role is to support the upkeep of various aspects within Washington Crossing Historic State Park, including buildings, trails, bridges, teaching areas, vehicles, equipment, and natural resources. This involves a wide range of tasks, such as grass cutting, weed removal, drainage clearing, snow removal, and painting, to ensure the overall maintenance of the park. Additionally, the position involves aiding in the construction and upkeep of trails, footbridges, and vehicle bridges by utilizing carpentry and concrete finishing skills. General janitorial work is also part of the responsibility to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within the park facilities. Operating pickup trucks, diesel and gas-powered tractors, utility vehicles, and mowers is a crucial aspect of the role, ensuring that all equipment is used safely and effectively. Water sample collection using prescribed techniques, as well as pumping water to maintain appropriate levels in tanks for center use, are also included in the duties. Furthermore, the position requires assisting in the maintenance of center buildings by completing minor carpentry and electrical repairs, replacing light bulbs, and conducting interior and exterior painting tasks. This comprehensive role plays a vital part in preserving the infrastructure and natural beauty of Washington Crossing Historic State Park.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Seasonal Full-time employment without benefits.

Shift hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Wednesday-Sunday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Scheduled days will vary based on operational needs.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
