Treasury Settlement - Settlement Senior Analyst

The Treasury Center of Excellence (CoE) in Warsaw, Poland was established in 2021 as an operational Hub focusing on the support of the following business lines within Mastercard: Settlement Services, Customer Risk Management, and Corporate Treasury.

To strengthen our Treasury Settlements Team, we are looking for new Team Member in Warsaw, Poland who will support our daily tasks and projects. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for settlement related activities, including managing projects and tests within payment industry. You will also proactively work hand in hand with many Treasury Operation Teams as well as Settlement Collection, Accounting, Billing and Risk Teams ensuring timely and accurate processing of cash transactions, as well as the accurate recording and reconciliation of transactions in financial systems.

Finally, we are looking for person who is motivated, shows ownership and strong client focus as well as can-do attitude. Critical thinker who naturally seeks opportunities to develop and optimize processes by finding ways to simplify, standardize and automate them. Successful candidate enjoys analyzing data as well as trends for purposes of cash liquidity, financial and operational risk elimination, and opportunities.

Your Role

• Execute daily settlement operation process.

• Own and perform market and industry tests as required

• Monitor real time payments to meet our MasterCard settlement obligations

• Utilize banking tools, reports, and financial systems to investigate cash discrepancies

• Ensure processes remain within established internal and external standards, meeting risk and control objectives

• Facilitate effective and prompt communication with internal departments and external clients

• Provide support to other functions within department on an as needed basis.

• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide viable solutions to customer’s payment issues

• Manage and resolve obstacles within established guidelines

• Research and performing investigations of topics required to execute the project

• Develop reports as assigned

• Participating, coordinating and leading projects and initiatives

• Identify trends and patterns in receivables accounts as well as understanding of customer needs and behaviors

All about you:

Education & Technical experience

• Bachelor’s in finance or similar field or equivalent work experience required

• Extra Development completed courses or Certificates are a plus.

• Strong technical skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite required.

• Experience in Microsoft Access, Alteryx, Excel Macros, Power BI and Automate are a plus.

Experience

• Previous experience in Treasury and/or Card Payment industry is an asset.

• Firm understanding of payment network SWIFT. Knowledge of South Africa Payment Industry and others is an asset.

• Demonstrated attitude for performing operational activities and customer service responsibilities under time pressure with a high degree of accuracy and strong attention to details;

• Strong analytical thinking, problem solving and investigative skills with proven ability to recommend ways to enhance operational efficiencies and analytical work; skills (gather and analyze information, curiosity etc.)

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact and collaborate effectively with team members, peers, senior management as well as external and internal partners;

• Previous experience with projects is an asset.
