UL, LLC Software Business Analyst in Warsaw, Poland
We are looking for a Software Business Analyst (Analytics) to join our Enterprise Data Management & Analytics hub in Warsaw, Poland. As a Software Business Analyst, you will play a key role in helping shape and deliver UL Solutions’ Global Data Strategy by working with various stakeholders to elicit and document their analytical business requirements. The Business Analyst will work within the Global Data Management and Analytics team driving data product requirements and ensuring the developers have properly translated business requirements into technical requirements and solutions.
Provides mentoring and guidance to Associate analysts on specific elements of their role on an ad hoc basis.
Educates cross-functional teams on business analysis principles and practices where required.
With minimal guidance, will define requirements for medium to large features for medium to large sized business change.
Creates requirement documentation through the use of Epics, Features and User Stories.
Creates post-development documentation.
Involvement in peer-reviewing project artefacts from the BA community.
Effectively communicate and collaborate within the department and with stakeholders across the organization by proactively driving requirements definition activities, escalating issues and removing blockers as needed.
Work with cross-functional teams to identify solutions to requirements.
Ensures that the designed solution meets requirements.
Work with QA to ensure requirements are fully understood and testing reflects the requirements.
May develop acceptance criteria.
Helps to identify and resolve software issues.
May on occasion act as stand in QA.
Estimates effort of Business Analysis tasks and provides status of progress to appropriate members of the management team.
Understands scrum and agile development methodologies.
Delivers business analysis artefacts within these frameworks.
Works with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure these agile processes and ceremonies are maintained.
Understands the part UX/UI design has to play in Development and seeks UX/UI input where required
Provide significant business knowledge to a development team based around specific business areas.
Able to work with multiple stakeholders and POs across different business areas to identify requirements, manage issues, set expectations etc.
Understand and comply with applicable regulations and all company processes as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Solves problems; seeks guidance to understand a broader perspective to identify solutions.
Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
Other duties as assigned.
Educated to degree level and/or 2+ years of equivalent commercial experience.
Generally, 2 Years or more of related experience or demonstrated competency.
Thorough understanding of at least one development process (preferably scrum / agile), based on previous work experience.
Familiarity with a range of development processes including lean agile, scrum, kanban, waterfall etc.
Sound working knowledge in a growing number of analysis tools and techniques, including process flow diagrams, *sequence flow diagrams, business process models, *use cases, data dictionaries, weighted scorecards, MoSCoW, *discovery sessions, *requirements review and *user stories ( must-haves).
Can identify where appropriate techniques should be used to the benefit of ongoing projects with minimal support.".
Awareness and knowledge of one or more Business Analysis methodologies such as BPMN (Business Process Modelling Notation), Six Sigma, and Agile Business Analysis.
Experience in utilizing elements of one or more methodologies desirable.
Able to facilitate workshops related to ongoing projects.
Has significant business knowledge across one more industry or domain.
Has previous experience in working with 3rd party suppliers and/or customers.
Can work with such partners requiring minimal support and guidance.
Ability to clearly communicate and write from a process-orientated point of view.
Ability to work effectively with others in a cross-functional team, in addition to product owners and stakeholders.
Demonstrates an aptitude to self-learn and appetite to share knowledge with Business Analysis colleagues and across multi-functional teams.
Ability to handle multiple ongoing tasks on relative complexity within an individual project.
Shows ability to self-start and self-manage, with minimal guidance and mentoring from more senior team members.
Ability to think critically and use a fact-based data-driven approach to solve more complex problems.
Ability to form strong relationships with colleagues across multi-functional teams and at more senior levels.
Demonstrates the ability to compromise and can resolve conflict and be flexible in approach with minimal guidance.
