Job Description Summary
In this role you will be part of the Advanced Mechanical Design team in the Advanced Technologies Organization and take part in the latest GE NPIs (RISE & ADNB) through technology maturation programs. You will have the opportunity to work and lead projects on different engine modules and design mechanical systems components for product level or for modules testing as well as test support. You will work in close cooperation with other global sites and test cells around the world.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Execution of design efforts related to technology maturation for new engine programs
Execute mechanical systems design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
Meeting the schedule and technical program requirements
Creation and implementation of plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments
Participation as a presenter in technical and program reviews (IPR, Design reviews, Test Reviews, Reg Flag Reviews)
Preparation of action plans to anticipate and respond to challenges
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks
Execute assigned individual and team projects using engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirement
Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
Required Qualifications
BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or similar
Systems thinking
Innovative and problem-solving mindset
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong oral and written communication skills, especially in English
Basics of mechanical drawings understanding
Understanding basics of fluid mechanic
Desired Characteristics
Mechanical design experience (i.e. bearings, lubrication systems, drive shafts, gearboxes, structures, rotating parts etc.)
Jet engine architecture knowledge
Working experience in mechanical testing laboratory
Working with subcontracting or external suppliers
Basic knowledge about ANSYS Mechanical, NX, Teamcenter
