Job Description

Purpose: Responsible for performing the full range of overhaul and repair work to major components and assemblies of a variety of Military vehicles Engines, Transmissions and materials handling equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs a full range of maintenance overhaul and repair work of major components and assemblies such as, engine transmissions and differentials of automobiles gasoline and or diesel-powered trucks, buses and materials handling equipment such as, forklifts and similar types of automotive vehicles.

  • Performs maintenance, troubleshooting, and major repair on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical, and automotive vehicles.

  • Determines exact nature and extent of repairs required and performs major and minor overhaul and repair on engines transmissions, suspensions, steering and braking systems and related electrical fuel hydraulic wheel and engine assemblies.

  • Tears down and rebuilds components and assemblies as necessary by fitting and installing needed parts such as rings pistons, bearings and gears.

  • Aligns, meshes and connects repaired units to related mechanisms such as the engine and related clutch mechanism. Hooks up fuel oil hydraulic and electrical systems to repaired units and adjusts to assure proper operation of units.

  • Removes and disassembles engines and complex major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and fuel, hydraulic, and oil pressure systems.

  • Uses a wide variety of test equipment such as test panels dynamometers, oscilloscopes and exhaust analyzers as well as visual and listening checks to trace and locate defects.

  • Assignments are received in the form of work orders, inspection reports or oral instructions.

  • May maintain and repair electronics communication equipment by removing and replacing components and elements.

  • Work may be subjected to review upon completion for acceptability and adherence to established trade standards.

  • Ensures strict compliance to safety practices and support the Safety Policies and Procedures.

  • Instills a safety-first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.

  • Adheres to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of Quality Management System.

  • Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience required.

  • Prior experience troubleshooting and maintaining various components and systems including packaging equipment and/or hydraulic & pneumatic systems and/or screw, belt and roller conveyors and/or pumps, gear reducers, and bearings.

  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining various components and systems including heavy mobile equipment and/or hydraulic systems and/or 12 to 24V mobile electrical systems and/or belt conveyors, gear reducers, and bearings.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of engine performance metrics and testing methodologies

  • Must pass a hazardous material (HazMat) training course within 90 days of arrival.

  • Incumbent will exercise tact, good manners and courtesy when serving and assisting customers.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based environment

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results on time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Engino Dyno – running tests, highly desired.

  • Experience working on Heavy Military Equipment preferred.

  • International driver’s license prior to deployment preferred.

Certification, License & Clearance:

  • ASE Certifications for assigned work responsibilities are required.

  • Valid US Driver’s license required.

  • US Citizenship required.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a CAC, if required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain facility and credential /authorization:

Note- US Citizenship is required for facility credential/authorization at this work location.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

  • Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.

  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.

  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

  • When performing work, responsible for adhering to environmental, safety, and health standards related to the activity, including the wearing of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
