Hillside Family of Agencies Skillbuilder I in Warsaw, New York

We have an excellent opportunity for a Skill Builder I to assist in the care and treatment of the youth and families we support in the region.

Full time position (40 hours) Monday to Friday. Availability until 7pm is expected for after school appointments.

Driving is required for this position using your vehicle, with most travel eligible for mileage reimbursement. Serving youth & families in the Livingston & Wyoming Counties. Primary base location is Warsaw Hub office, however this is a mobile role throughout the region. Flexible schedule.

As a Skill Builder, you will be intricately involved in developing life and social skills in a community based setting for the youth and families we serve, while establishing a safe physical and emotional environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Continually demonstrate the emotional confidence and good judgment required to build productive, engaged children, youth, families and family relationships while implementing required rules and routines

  • Responsible for managing youth and family activities within an individual or group dynamic, assuring the safety of the youth and families assigned, and applying appropriate emergency and crisis intervention principles and techniques

  • Pro-actively maintain current knowledge of the youth and families emotional and behavioral status, assesses the effectiveness of service plans, and supports youth interactions with family and local community

  • Provide life and social skills training for youth and families

Level I Requirements:

· High School Diploma or GED

· 1+ years of relevant experience working with youth

· Must have the ability to engage youth and families in trust-based relationships

· Must have well developed advocacy skills

· Effective verbal and written communication skills

$17.50 Minimum Rate per hour, $25.02 Maximum Rate per hour, based on experience.
