Are you an Electrical Engineer focused on HVDC? At ENTRUST Solutions Group we're seeking a Project Engineer specializing in High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) to join our Electric Utilities business sector. This role is pivotal in independently executing detailed engineering design tasks for HVDC projects, including substation and transmission projects. As a Project Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of small to medium-sized projects, focusing on HVDC line design and conducting site visits as needed. You will perform most assignments independently, with clear instructions on the expected outcomes. While you will receive technical guidance on complex or unusual problems, you will also have the autonomy to propose plans for projects and supervise other engineers or drafters/designers on assigned tasks. In this role, you are enabled to be at the forefront of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and utilizing tools such as, Microsoft Copilot, bespoke AI workflow tools, and an IT team dedicated to continuous improvement and innovation to enhance our operations and drive efficiency. All employees can engage with the Digital Transformation Team to support the integration of new tools and following employee ideas to drive success for the business.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent technical degree
5+ years of work experience in the Electric Utilities industry or a related industry.
At least 3 years of the work experience must be at an engineering consulting firm.
PE License or ability to obtain PE license within 6-12 months
Expertise in converter terminals as well as Thyristor valves, Converter Transformer, DC Reactor, Harmonics filtering equipment, Control equipment, and Reactive power compensation
Expertise in polarity of DC systems (monopole vs. bipole vs. back-to-back vs. multi-terminal)
Preferred Qualifications:
- PLS CADD experience
