The Sherwin-Williams Company Material Handling Technician in Warrensville Heights, Ohio

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: This position is responsible for delivering consumables including chemical materials such as solvents and pigments, lab supplies and sundries from the shipping dock to an appropriate location within a laboratory or storage room. This position is also responsible for stocking and organizing lab supply rooms and maintaining appropriate shipping paperwork. In addition, this position requires backing up the waste coordinator in duties including changing waste drums and gaylord boxes. Key Duties: Verifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries Ensuring proper labeling of incoming items and internal re-containerization of products. Identifying and locating the right products during the delivery process Recording the location and date of delivery Keeping track of delivery paperwork and submitting them to the appropriate person Collaborating with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries and replace damaged products Operating various delivery equipment including fork-lift Monitoring stock levels in lab supply areas and re-stock as necessary Communicating with buyer when inventory is low Assisting in the re-containerizing requested material from bulk containers to secondary containers and properly labeling them Complying with all safety, health, and environmental regulations Waste Coordinator Back-up Duties: Change out full drums and gaylords of waste and replace with labeled empty drums Utilize various drum moving equipment from a drum cart to a forklift Place appropriate label on empty container Change-out empty raw material solvent drums Inspect hazardous waste areas FORMAL EDUCATION: Required: High School Graduate KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: Excellent time management and organizational skills Written and verbal communication skills Physically fit with the ability to lift objects weighing between 50-100 pounds Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Team Player Preferred: Minimum of 2 years experience in similar role Certification of forklift operation TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Required: Safety Management Skills Sherwin-Williams is proud to be an Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, Inclusion and Diversity Supportive Employer.
