Ellwood National Forge Company (ENF) has an opening for a General Supervisor-Warren Plant who is an energetic, self-motivated individual in the operations of ENF.  This position will be based in Warren, PA, however from time to time maybe assigned to work in the Irvine or Corry Plants.  This exempt position will report to the Director of Operations.  This position will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

  • With Ellwood National Forge lean work force, employees may be required to perform other duties within or outside their departments at any time.
  • Supports the Company philosophy concerning unions and works to maintain a union-free environment through the utilization of good supervisory practices.
  • Possesses a strong commitment to a safe work environment and practices and maintains adherence to Company Safety Policies through education and accountability.
  • Supervises the activities of the Warren Plant areas with respect to safety, production volume, cost, quality and delivery dates.
  • Works with Supervisors to establish accountabilities and goals used for performance measures.
  • Holds Supervisors responsible for directing the activities of the departments with regard to safety, productivity and quality.
  • Holds department employees responsible for high quality, high volume productivity utilizing good safety practices.
  • Works with other departments, such as manufacturing, quality and maintenance, to promptly address any quality or delivery issues that are affecting commercial situations.
  • Holds Supervisors accountable for maintaining and enforcing all manufacturing instructions.
  • Participates in regular safety audits for assigned department.
  • Develops operating practices and policies as required and enforces compliance with all manufacturing instructions
  • Optimizes production levels by overseeing the operating performance without compromising safety, quality, efficiency goals, production, deliveries, or equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Guides operating supervision and their reportables, and holds them accountable to continuously improve their performance, including safety.
  • Assist in developing and supporting capital improvements within the assigned departments
  • Assist in maintaining conversion costs at or below forecasted estimates.
  • Abides by all policies and procedures established by the Company including plant safety regulations and work rules
  • Must have ability and desire to work with others
  • Meets attendance requirements
  • Performs other duties as deemed necessary

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Six (6) or more years' experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Thorough understanding of the operations for best practices, capabilities, product processing and quality requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Good Math skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work well with a team and/or other departments while also working independently.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Results oriented. Ability to organize and prioritize.
  • General Computer Skills - Microsoft Word, Excel and Syteline.
  • Maintain confidentiality at the highest level; and
