Genesis Corp dba Genesis10 Senior Data Engineer- Data Lake Platform (Engineer/Admin) in Warren, New Jersey
Genesis10 is seeking a Senior Data Engineer Data Lake Platform (Engineer/Admin) for a 6-month contract position with a Reinsurance / P&C agency located in Warren, NJ. This position is hybrid onsite in Warren, NJ (2- 3 days per week required, must reside within a 1-hour commute of the Warren, NJ office).
Summary:
- Skills required: Azure Data Factory, DataBricks, Data Lake Architecture, Azure DevOps, Python, SQL, solid understanding of Azure fundamentals and security best practices, Release management
- Nice to have: Synapse, Azure Certifications (Fundamentals, Data, Security, Administrator)
- Work as part of an agile team to design and develop frameworks for loading and transforming data in Data Lake using Azure Cloud technologies. (Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, Databricks).
- Work closely with architecture team to implement new Cloud data technologies.
- Optimize and improve performance of existing data ingestion and transformation processes. (ADF, SQL, Databricks).
- Make improvements to existing data processes to automate and enhance data quality.
- Redesign existing on-premises data processes using cloud technologies.
- 7-10 years of experience with data platforms, data warehouses, ELT, SQL. (Microsoft preferred).
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience with data related Azure Cloud Services (Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Functions).
- 1-2 years' experience with Azure DataBricks and Python.
- Experience with DevOps / ARM Templates and deploying code via CI/CD Pipelines.
- Solid understanding of database design, data warehousing concepts, data lake architecture.
- Experience with performance tuning and optimizing ELT processes.
- Experience with Azure Synapse, Big Data or Snowflake is a plus.
- Experience with Powershell or Terraform is a plus.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
