Summary About the Position: The Program Executive Office, Ground Combat Systems (PEO GCS) is responsible for providing world-class affordable, relevant and sustainable ground combat vehicles to Joint Warfighters. With a focus on developing current and future systems, PEO GCS is leading the production and management of all combat vehicles for the Army. Responsibilities Serves as a staff logistics specialist with responsibility for coordination and direction of logistics activities for vehicles under project/product management. Projects involve planning and executing integrated logistic policies and procedures (especially in the areas of supply and maintenance) and providing technical direction and assistance to supporting installations. Assures execution of plans with responsibility for integration of all functions and special emphasis in the areas of supply and maintenance programs and plans. Participates in development of basic budgetary requirements for adequate logistics support of assigned systems. Assesses system deployment plans to assure that distribution and support planning is substantive and accurate. Complies performance data on timeliness and cost of technical acquisitions, maintenance and support accomplishments. Represents Project Managers Office at conferences or meetings with representatives of AMC, DA, other services, foreign countries and private industry, relative to logistic plans and objectives. Provides extensive integration of wholesale and retail supply maintenance systems and policies and resolves interface problems as required. Specialized Experience: In order to qualify based on experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 (or equivalent) level in the Federal Service that includes the ability to: (1) Execute logistics plans to assure integration of logistics elements (i.e. acquisition and production, comptroller, technical/product assurance); (2) Monitor program execution and contractor performance to assure compliance with milestones and contract terms; (3) Coordinate logistics activities for vehicles under project/product management to effectively issue and track material requisitions in support of fielding and production; and (4) Identify and resolve complex problems to lessen the impact on cost, schedule, performance and/or other logistics support requirements. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-02 or (GS-11 equivalent). This is a Non-Key Security Cooperation (SC) position based on the duties and responsibilities. The position requires DoD SC Workforce (SCW) Certification. The incumbent must complete certification-related training requirements in the SC Area of Concentration (AoC) within the timeframe associated with the position's SCW certification level: SC Acquisition Management (AOC) Intermediate Level --1 year (Basic); 3 years (Intermediate); or 5 years (Advanced); and --Complete certification-related continuous learning requirements in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2017, Title 10 United States Code, Section 384. Incumbent(s) of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense, Defense Security Cooperation Agency, and Department of the Army requirements of the SCW certification program. Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level III in the Acquisition Career Field- (L) Life Cycle Logistics within 24 months of entrance on duty (Certification requirements may be found in the Defense Acquisitions University Catalog at Two year trial/probationary period may be required. You will be required to undergo background investigation leading to the successful adjudication of eligibility for a Secret Security clearance. Derogatory information developed during the background investigation, such as a criminal history, could render the selectee ineligible for both the security clearance and continued employment in the position, if already appointed be approved if eligible under specific conditions. This position may be eligible for regular and recurring TELEWORK, including emergency and OPM prescribed unscheduled Telework. Supervisor approval will be required on a case-by-case basis. Direct deposit of pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter. This position may be filled by Temporary Promotion, Temporary Reassignment, or Temporary Change to Lower grade NTE 3 years; may be extended up to 5 years by a current Permanent Army Employee.
