The Home for Little Wanderers Speech Language Pathologist Part-Time - Eligible for an Up To $10,000 Bonus in Walpole, Massachusetts

The Home at Walpole seeks a Part-Time Speech Language Pathologist for their Massachusetts-based Chapter 766 Special Education School, Clifford Academy. Clifford Academy provides a year-round engaging and comprehensive program focused on education, career development, recreation/fitness, and an individualized therapeutic approach.

Under the direction of the Program Director the Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for providing the assessment and treatment of communication disorders to the children.

How You Will Be Making a Difference

  • Assess speech, language, and communication disorders of children

  • Develops individual treatment plans, adapting and adjusting goals and objectives appropriately

  • Provides individual and small group treatment both within the classroom and outside the classroom setting

  • Provides on-going consultation to classroom teachers and other school staff as needed

  • Maintains current knowledge of facility/agency behavior management principles, system and procedures, including TCI training

  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills necessary for Evaluation Team Meetings, treatment conferences and family meetings as indicated

  • Works as part of a multi-disciplinary team; participating in meetings and conferences. Interfaces with parents, guardians and collateral agencies to coordinate student educational and treatment needs

  • Provides clinical supervision to speech-language pathology students in internship placements within HLW as requested by the Director of Education

  • Uses time effectively, maintains treatment notes and completes all documentation in a timely manner

  • Alters schedule as needed to meet the educational/clinical needs of the program

  • Functions independently within the scope of these duties, consulting with the program Principal for administrative issues/departmental operations

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology with current Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA in Speech-Language Pathology and a Massachusetts license

  • Computer literate including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer with the ability to learn new software applications
