The Home for Little Wanderers seeks a Part-Time Registered Nurse for The Home at Walpole. The Home at Walpole is a residential treatment placement for adolescent youth who need specialized treatment as they heal from the traumatic events that have shaped their young lives.
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing and Program Director, the Registered Nurse will provide nursing care and manage the ongoing health care of residential clients in assigned programs.
How You’ll Be Making A Difference
In collaboration with the Administrative Team, develop and ensure implementation of a comprehensive health/wellness component to program planning, including environmental, nutritional, exercise and fitness
Oversee all aspects of the administration of medications. Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines.
Oversee the nursing assessment and ongoing evaluation of clients including vital signs and anthropometric measurements, as prescribed. Monitors the effectiveness, side effects, adverse reactions, and drug interactions of all medications.
Oversee the coordination of medical, diagnostic and laboratory appointments.
Coordinate the delivery of health care with ancillary staff, family members, guardians, psychiatrists, primary and specialty health care providers, and other professionals within the Home and with external organizations. Maintain on-going communications with primary health care provider.
May be required to administer medication including insulin and/or other injectable medications, under nursing license.
Complete reports and documentation needed for client records, the Home and collateral and regulatory agencies.
Provide and coordinate health education for clients and families and training for staff as needed.
Will have the opportunity to provide input during monthly nursing team meetings

Qualifications
Minimum of three years of nursing experience, pediatric and/or psychiatric nursing preferred. Ideal RN candidate will hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, MAP trainer preferred
Experience within residential programs desired and school nursing/DESE protocols around med delegation also a plus
Computer literate including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer with the ability to learn new software applications
Certified in CPR and Standard First Aid
