The position can be based in our Walnut Creek, San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Irvine, or San Diego offices. The successful candidate will have a strong skillset and familiarity with common methods for civil and underground design using relevant codes and standards. Experience in project management, client relations, and business development required. Responsibilities: Oversee the preparation of technical reports, engineering specifications, drawings and perform calculations in support of engineering activities. Plan, direct and coordinate activities of project teams to ensure compliance with contract agreements and exercise cost control to implement the approved design within established budget and schedule restraints. Manage on-time and within budget submission of required project deliverables. Provide technical guidance to lead and manage multi-disciplined engineering teams including junior/graduate engineers. Provide mentoring to support junior engineers' career development. Establish and maintain relationships with senior client management and staff. Make presentations to client staff and management on the status of the project and project deliverables. Accountable for QA/QC and risk management on projects. Demonstrate confidence, business acumen, negotiations, interpersonal and communications skills required to maintain effective relationships with clients and represent Delve Underground in critical business dealings, relationships, and negotiations with suppliers and business partners. Initiate and review qualification and pricing proposals. Participate in interviews, statement of qualifications, proposals, interviews and presentations in pursuit of new projects. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. An emphasis in geotechnical or structural engineering is desirable. Master's degree in structural or geotechnical engineering desirable. At least 10+ years experience in civil engineering, including planning, design and construction of heavy civil infrastructure.
