Salary Range: $33.300 -- $37.742/hour

This is a grant funded position.

The City of Walla Walla offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, and dental health insurance. City paid $50,000 Life/Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance plus voluntary Life and Long-Term Disability. Washington State Public Employees Retirement Program (PERS) II/III. City match up to 3.5% of base salary for deferred compensation (457(b)). 3% bilingual Spanish premium. Generous vacation leave, sick leave, and ten (10) paid holidays plus 40 hours floating holidays annually.

[NATURE OF POSITION]{.underline}

As part of the Walla Walla Fire Department (WWFD) Community Paramedic/Mobile Integrated Health Program, this position will respond to, provide assessment, and navigation to individuals with complex needs, such as those with Co-Occurring disorders, behavioral health concerns, comorbid conditions, housing, financial and other social service needs.  This position works alongside emergency medical services (EMS) responders to address residents' needs for care coordination, social service resources, and/or crisis intervention.  This position may be requested from community partners and/or accompany emergency medical responders to provide overall clinical assessments and referrals to appropriate community services, and/or connect clients to case management services.  Must be able and willing to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Individuals may be required to wear a uniform in this role.

[REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS]{.underline}

Any combination equivalent to: Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field, and experience in the direct treatment of individuals who are acutely and severely mentally ill, those with substance use disorders, and those with comorbidities.  Possession of a valid driver's license. Possession of and the ability to maintain licensure throughout the period of employment of one of the following licenses issued by the State of Washington is required at the time of hire:

  • A valid Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), or
  • A valid Licensed Advanced Social Worker (LASW), or
  • A valid Licensed Social Work Associate and Independent Clinical (LSWAIC), or
  • A valid Licensed Social Work Associate and Advanced (LSWAA)

[DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS]{.underline}

Bilingual in Spanish. Master's degree in Social Work. Experience as a hospital social worker/discharge planner is preferred. Ability to conduct 1077 forensic examinations.
