Spectrum Plastics Master 2nd shift Area Supervisor in Wall, New Jersey
SUMMARY:
Lead departmental manufacturing team(s) to ensure that adequate resources, training, and quality adherence are in place, and to provide direction to effectively meet production needs per the OTD plan.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performing manufacturing operations including ERP transactions, folder review, change orders, non-conforming reports, building product as appropriate
Coordinates team staffing to meet production needs
Coordinate activities/communication between shifts to achieve effective product flow and team dynamics
Establish and monitor key metrics and goals in alignment with business priorities
Utilize Lean tools to drive Continuous Improvement
Complying/train team on FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), general safety and manufacturing procedures, and company practices and policies
Understands product flow, bills of material, yields, touch times, and process bottlenecks
Authoring and reviewing procedures for efficiency and accuracy
Working with leadership to track and report team key performance indicators (KPI)
Partner with leadership and team members on area improvement activities
Ability to read, comprehend and communicate in English
Supports EH&S activities to maintain a safe working environment
Performs other related duties as assigned by leadership
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises employees (could also include contract workers) within the production department.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; support the rewarding and disciplining of employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), Bachelor's Degree (BS) from four-year college or university in Engineering, Science, or Operations, preferred • Minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrated leadership in a ISO regulated manufacturing environment • Hands-on experience with Lean Tools to bring about improvement, preferred • Proven ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities • Strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver feedback regarding overall performance and areas for improvement • Basic math skills • Computer skills required: Inventory Software; Microsoft Office; Payroll Systems
