South County Hospital Nurse Manager in Wakefield, Rhode Island

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Provide strong leadership and direction to nursing and ancillary staff across all outpatient services.

  • Manage staffing requirements, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation of staff to ensure competent service delivery.

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices that ensure the safety and effectiveness of patient care.

    Operational Oversight:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Endoscopy Suite, Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, and Central Sterile departments.

  • Ensure that all areas are compliant with healthcare regulations and standards, including OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission.

  • Manage schedules, workflows, and resources effectively to optimize patient throughput and satisfaction.

    Quality Control and Compliance:

  • Monitor and ensure the quality of patient care, intervening to correct deficiencies when necessary.

  • Implement continuous quality improvement measures to enhance patient outcomes and departmental performance.

  • Ensure all departments adhere to infection control protocols, including the maintenance and sterilization of medical equipment.

    Budget and Resource Allocation:

  • Develop and manage the budget for outpatient services, including cost control initiatives.

  • Oversee the procurement and maintenance of medical equipment and supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.

    Patient Care and Safety:

  • Promote a patient-centered approach to care that ensures patient dignity, safety, and privacy.

  • Address patient complaints and concerns promptly, ensuring patient satisfaction.

  • Facilitate a collaborative approach to patient care with other departments and services.

    Professional Development:

  • Foster a positive and professional work environment that encourages continuous learning and development.

  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in nursing practices and outpatient care technologies.

  • Provide educational and advancement opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.

  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.

  • Valid RN license and appropriate certifications.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a track record of managing multidisciplinary teams. Excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
