We serve as a flex plant and are able to produce everything from a whole pasteurized egg to liquid, dried, hardboiled and curds.
Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The On-the-job Trainer is responsible for providing comprehensive training and guidance to new hires, transfers, and other employees within the plant. They will assist in the development and review of training materials and programs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. This role supports multiple departments across the Wakefield location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide training and guidance to new hires, transfers, and other employees, ensuring adherence to established training objectives. Ensure completion of Phase 2 and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for new hires and transfers. Assist employees in completing Skills Assessment paperwork for position qualification. Make recommendations for additional skill development and cross-training as necessary. Develop On-the-job Training (OJT) programs and participate in training plan development. Assist in creating work instructions, checklists, and visual aids. Support new employee orientation as a backup. Conduct regular follow-ups to verify proficiency and understanding. Conduct cross-training sessions as required. Support employees needing additional assistance in understanding job responsibilities. Maintain training material files and organized training logs. Ensure all training is conducted in compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Assist in problem-solving, continuous improvement, safety programs/training, and general housekeeping during non-training or non-production periods. Attend periodic training seminars, including those requiring out-of-town arrangements. Be available to work any shift to meet internal customer training needs. Adhere to safety and quality standards, reporting any issues to management. Work overtime and holidays as needed. Always ensure regulatory compliance. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven ability to teach employees with diverse backgrounds and learning methods. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, and regulations. Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual in English/Spanish desired. Knowledge of adult education and learning techniques. Proficiency in mathematical skills and problem-solving. Familiarity with local, state, and federal compliance training requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word; experience with SharePoint and Access a plus. Ability to work in various environmental conditions. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or in a team. Self-motivated with a responsible work ethic. Openness to change and willingness to seek direction. Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift and pallet jack license.
