Join our company and be part of an innovative team that’s First in Food. Location Description Wakefield is one of the largest production facilities within Michael Foods. We serve as a flex plant and are able to produce everything from a whole pasteurized egg to liquid, dried, hardboiled and curds. Responsibilities SUMMARY: Assist in the planning, scheduling, and coordinating of the logistics and transportation of both internal and external egg supply. Provide assistance with all aspects and functions related to corporate Egg Procurement and Sourcing. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. ACTIVITIES: Develop an understanding of egg production, transportation, and egg processing operations in order to facilitate effective egg sourcing for all company facilities. Assumes personal responsibility to insure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. Adheres to Quality work practices, follows GMP’s, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained. Reports to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality. Assist in the scheduling of internal and external egg supply and transportation to fulfill egg requirements for all company facilities. Review and analyze procurement and accounts payable/receivable reports to ensure accurate payment, collection and documentation of egg purchases, freight, and raw egg sales. Work with and assist operations to identify and resolve problems with shell and liquid egg supply. Provide support for procurement strategic planning initiatives. Research, collect and analyze data for effective egg sourcing and transportation decisions. Develop an understanding of egg procurement’s role and interaction with all functional and service areas within Michael Foods to ensure alignment with companywide goals and objectives. Ensures regulatory compliance at all times. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Current or recent enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Planning. Customer first attitude Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient with standard business/office software applications as well entry level understanding of computer operating systems and basic troubleshooting techniques.
